LinkedIn is becoming a bit of a spam-verse:
- people spouting off their shop-worn ideas
- people slow clapping for themselves whilst they do the humble-brag
and - people sliding in to your DMs pitching you on their wares
Still love LinkedIn for its intended purpose to grow your network and learn and find great opportunities, but c’mon folks. Let’s not drag this platform down like so many others.
When sliding into DMs here are a couple of tips:
DOs | Don’ts |
---|---|
DO provide value DO encourage, congratulate and motivate DO ASK QUESTIONS |
DON’T sell right away DON’T tear-down, brag or promote DON’T ASSUME YOU KNOW what I do and do not know or need – ASK QUESTIONS… |
